Position Title: Associate, Finance, Treasury

Summary:

 

The role is responsible for settlement of Treasury trades, support of In House Cash (IHC) and Accounts Payable (AP) payments, and covers accurate and complete bank statement reporting in SAP. The role supports the Front Office team on their cash management and liquidity activities for all countries supported by the SSC. The role ensures and monitors that Treasury transactions are in compliance with internal policy and local/government regulation.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Executes timely and accurate settlement and payment of Treasury trades
    • Performs review of trades across the trade life cycle (confirmation, settlement, maturity)
      • On trade inception, reviews and settles trade details as inputted by Front Office; ensures appropriate trade approvals are enforced
      • On trade maturity, validates interest rate and maturity amount calculations for loans and investments; ensures correct bank postings for said maturities
    • Ensures prompt settlement of all trade-related payments; coordinates with relevant parties (Corporate Treasury, IHC, external banks) regarding payment instructions related to maturing trades
    • Confirms trade as required by counterparty banks
    • Conducts timely investigation of failed / erroneous trades including failed payments and remediates accordingly
    • Provides support to Accounting and Internal/External Auditors for bank documents and reports
    • Ensures correct accounting entries for all Treasury trades
    • Settles all front office trades after appropriate checks are performed; ensures no open trades after month end
    • Initiates bank statement postings (TBB1) and payment run (F111) related to trade settlement and maturities
    • Batches Treasury payments and ensures payment files processed by bank
    • Ensures correct trade set up in SAP (ex. payment flows, partner bank details); requests for new business partner as required
    • Runs weekly Alert Monitoring (FTR_ALERT) in compliance with SOAR Controls
  • Processes Treasury payments and manual Accounts Payable (AP) payments, and provides support to In House Cash (IHC) process
    • Executes repetitive codes for Treasury payments via Straight Thru Processing
    • Processes AP and Treasury payments not supported by F110/F111 through electronic banking platforms or paper-based instructions (checks or bank forms)
    • Supports the IHC activities of supported countries and ensures payments to the In House Bank are released in a timely and complete manner
    • Breaks down IHC payment issues and provides inputs for resolution to AP; informs AP regarding payment rejection
    • Seeks to resolve with AP team payment issues relating to any rejected or invalid instructions
    • Facilitates vendor requests related to proof of payment, remittance details, etc.
    • Resolves bank concerns on domestic or cross border payment instructions
    • Coordinates with local team on required Central Bank or Tax filings for submission to the bank
    • Provides treasury expertise to AP team members as appropriate
  • Monitors accurate and complete bank statement reporting in SAP and ensures resolution for any errors or issues are timely resolved
    • Ensures accurate and complete loading of daily bank statements in FEBA; checks accuracy by comparing actual ending balances with ledger balances reflected in bank statements; escalates to BPT recurring issues for resolution
    • Liaises with banks on any unidentified bank transactions and communicates the same to affected teams; provides support to the G/L team on chasing of open items
    • Reviews and recommends new / amended posting rules to to reduce or eliminate manual clearing
    • Prepares journal entries relating to Treasury Bank open items posted manually
    • Upholds SOAR controls relating to daily/monthly FEBA
  • post-month end accounting checks are performed, including execution of Alert Monitoring to ensure trade settlement is completed

 

  • Ensures list of authorized signers and traders are updated with the banks

Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance or any Business-related studies.
  • Experience or background in similar roles in Back Office/ Treasury Operations/ Settlements
  • Strong accounting background (CPA is plus, but not a requirement)
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office tools; Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

  • Certified Treasury Professional
  • Exposure to SAP
  • Exposure to Regional Treasury operations
  • Exposure to Internal Controls

Job Requirements:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work Hours: 8:00AM or 9:00AM to 5:00PM or 6:00PM (Mondays to Fridays)
  • Overtime or holiday support might be required depending on the critical deliverables
  • Early morning or late night call with Corporate Treasury will be required from time to time
